Casa Carvalho is an authentic fisherman’s house at Salema beach that was completely renovated. It offers a spacious, fully equipped kitchen that merges into the living room, two comfortable bedrooms with shutters, a bathroom with a window and large shower, a corridor with plenty of space for beach utensils, and a terrace with shaded seating under a pergola, sunbeds and sunshades. On the terrace you can enjoy the unlimited sea view, watch the fishermen returning home from fishing early in the morning or, with a bit of luck, see dolphins passing by in the ocean.
In front of the house is a small park with a fitness trail. Anybody who wants to stay fit can exercise here and enjoy an outdoor training experience with ocean view.
The cozy kitchen has two roof windows that provide light and fresh air. The windows can be opened and closed with a remote control. There is a dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine, microwave, etc…
The internet in Casa Carvalho is for free and can be accessed via Wi-Fi. There is also an HDMI cable available that can be used to connect a laptop to the flat-screen TV and a satellite dish that provides access to English and many other TV channels.
The price per night covers internet, bedlinen/sheets and towels that can be changed weekly if necessary, heating, and final cleaning. If needed, we can provide a travel bed for children with bedding and bedlinen, and a high chair without additional charges.
Even during winter season Casa Carvalho is a cozy place to stay: There is a fireplace in the living room and natural stone heating in all rooms, that can easily be regulated by thermostat.

Holiday with the Atlantic
This was the fifth time we stayed in the fisherman’s cottage and we’d love to come back! Holidays at Casa Carvalho are on, in and with the Atlantic, 24 hours a day. We love hearing him, watching him all the time, falling asleep and waking up with the waves and practically falling off the bed onto the beach. The cottage is a wonderful place to retreat, even in the winter months, lovingly furnished and regularly renovated, the kitchen perfectly equipped for long evenings cooking, communication with the landlady warm and clear.

Casa Carvalho is just wonderful. The fisherman’s house has everything you need, it is well equipped, clean, well maintained and furnished with attention to detail. The communication with the administrator on site as well as with the house owner in Germany was very quick and unproblematic. The location can’t be beat. We have been to Salema many times, this place is just gorgeous and so is the cottage.

Wonderful days in the Algarve
A successful holiday also includes beautiful accommodation. This is the case at Casa Carvalho. Everything is there that you need, a quiet atmosphere, a fantastic view and the Atlantic almost in front of the porch. Just wonderful.
Wonderful place - just right for us for the 5th time
This is the fifth time we have spent our vacation in “Casa Carvalho” and if everything goes well, we will come back next year. We are absolutely delighted with this accommodation and would recommend it to all friends and family. The house is beautiful, located directly on the sea, very tastefully and lovingly furnished. You can tell from every detail that the owners have put a lot of thought into making their stay as pleasant as possible for their guests.

Perfect holidays
There were four of us in Salema in the first two weeks of August and we immediately fell in love with the fisherman’s house. The location right by the sea is unbeatable and the very well-kept house has everything you need for a great vacation. The communication with the landlady and the administrator was perfect.
Salema is a wonderful – not yet overcrowded with tourists – small fishing village, which has been able to largely retain its original charm in the old part. In short: an ideal place to unwind.
We would like to come again.
