The former fisherman’s house Casa Carvalho is located directly by the sea and is therefore the ideal spot for a relaxing beach vacation. The beach is only 2 minutes away. Casa Carvalho is an authentic fisherman’s house at Salema beach that was completely renovated. It offers a spacious, fully equipped kitchen that merges into the living room, two comfortable bedrooms with shutters, a bathroom with a window and large shower, a corridor with plenty of space for beach utensils, and a terrace with shaded seating under a pergola, sunbeds and sunshades. On the terrace you can enjoy the unlimited sea view, watch the fishermen returning home from fishing early in the morning or, with a bit of luck, see dolphins passing by in the ocean.
In front of the house is a small park with a fitness trail. Anybody who wants to stay fit can exercise here and enjoy an outdoor training experience with ocean view.
The cozy kitchen has two roof windows that provide light and fresh air. The windows can be opened and closed with a remote control. There is a dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine, microwave, etc…
The internet in Casa Carvalho is for free and can be accessed via Wi-Fi. There is also an HDMI cable available that can be used to connect a laptop to the flat-screen TV and a satellite dish that provides access to English and many other TV channels.
The price per night covers internet, bedlinen/sheets and towels that can be changed weekly if necessary, heating, and final cleaning. If needed, we can provide a travel bed for children with bedding and bedlinen, and a high chair without additional charges.
Even during winter season Casa Carvalho is a cozy place to stay: There is a fireplace in the living room and natural stone heating in all rooms, that can easily be regulated by thermostat.

Wonderful place - just right for us for the 5th time
This is the fifth time we have spent our vacation in “Casa Carvalho” and if everything goes well, we will come back next year. We are absolutely delighted with this accommodation and would recommend it to all friends and family. The house is beautiful, located directly on the sea, very tastefully and lovingly furnished. You can tell from every detail that the owners have put a lot of thought into making their stay as pleasant as possible for their guests.
And now the most important thing: absolutely nice, courteous and helpful owners – thank you very much, Mrs. Carvalho!
Perfect holidays
There were four of us in Salema in the first two weeks of August and we immediately fell in love with the fisherman’s house. The location right by the sea is unbeatable and the very well-kept house has everything you need for a great vacation. The communication with the landlady and the administrator was perfect.
Salema is a wonderful – not yet overcrowded with tourists – small fishing village, which has been able to largely retain its original charm in the old part. In short: an ideal place to unwind.
We would like to come again.

perennial favourite
Casa Carvalho is our perennial favorite, for the 4th time we spent our autumn vacation in this cozy and very clean and well-kept little house in the second half of October and felt very comfortable again.
The weather was more mixed and at times significantly cooler than in other years, but this was not a problem at all in the evenings due to the very quickly reacting wall heating.
Thanks to the Carvalho couple and the administrator Celia, who reacted immediately to acute receiver problems for German television and WiFi problems and found a solution.
All in all, we can only recommend the house and hope to be able to enjoy the view from the terrace again next autumn.
Everything is there for a perfect relaxing beach holiday
The arrival in Salema was accompanied perfectly. A great view of the sea and the incoming fishing boats.
Some good restaurants and a supermarket where we could buy fresh baked goods every day.
We enjoyed breakfast under the pergola. The kitchen with TV corner is well equipped and offers enough space for everyone.
We look forward to a reunion .
